Face Mask for Your Skin Type

Every healthy and evolved skincare routine includes daily and weekly rituals. If they’re not already, face masks should be an essential part of your skincare routine. Not only will you reap the benefits of weekly masking, but they can be quite therapeutic! Masks are my favorite weekly indulgence; most are easy to apply, they are fun to use, and when used correctly, they can give your skincare routine that “oomph” it’s been lacking. I also look forward to my weekly masks as it’s a way to pamper myself at home after a long week. There’s a mask out there for every skin type and concern!

Dry, Sensitive, or Post-Procedure Skin

My favorite masks for dry or sensitive skin are Hydrogel or Sheet masks. If you are especially dry, it’s really important that your weekly mask has a high concentration of hyaluronic acid to boost your hydration.

Skinceuticals Biocellulose Mask ($25) – The Biocellulose Mask is a sheet mask that creates a protective barrier to hydrate your skin and provide immediate cooling. We also love the Biocellulose Mask for post-procedure patients. This is a great add on to help reduce redness and promote healing after laser treatments or microneedling

Skinceutcials Hydrating B5 Mask ($55) – Hydrating B5 Mask is formulated to replenish moisture and nutrients. The key ingredients are vitamin B5 and hyaluronic acid. This mask can be used on the face and body, and instantly restores radiance. The B5 Mask can be used weekly or as needed to restore the skin’s hydration levels.

Oily, Combination, or Acne Prone Skin

When you think of oily skin and face masks, your mind probably goes straight to clay masks. These masks are great if you are feeling oily, but make sure you don’t over-do it! Clay helps draw out impurities and detoxes the skin.

Revision Black Mask ($41) – This purifying mask cleanses the skin while ridding it of its impurities and excess sebum. The key ingredients in Black Mask are fresh water silt and salicylic acid to aid in exfoliation. The Black Mask should be used once a week.

Skin Better Detoxifying Scrub Mask ($49) – Skin Better brings the best of both worlds with their Detoxifying Scrub Mask. This mask doubles as an exfoliating scrub and detoxifying mask. This scrub uses Jojoba beads; a biodegradable sphere providing gentle yet effective exfoliation. I personally like keeping mine in the shower – scrub my face, leave the mask on, and rinse it off. The Detoxifying Scrub Mask can be used up to 3 times per week!

No matter your skin type or concern, there is a face mask out there for you! These are just a few of our favorites and the tip of the iceberg. All of the masks mentioned above are available for purchase at ZONA Med Spa.
