Why We Love Versa

This relatively new filler is sweeping the market and quickly becoming a favorite across the country! Revanesse Versa is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler, similar to Restylane and Juvederm.  This HA filler is FDA approved for cosmetic treatment of facial wrinkles and creases, however we love using Versa in the lips. One of the most frequently asked questions I get is, ‘What is the difference between Juvederm and Versa? Why do you prefer it over Juvederm?” 

The Science Behind Versa

While Hyaluronic Acid may be the primary ingredient in most fillers, Versa has technology that sets it apart from the competition. Using Thixofix cross-linking technology, it is able to reduce swelling and extend the duration of your treatment results. This technology also helps give the product a simpler shape and a more natural feel and appearance, which we all love. Thanks to Revanesse’s unique “milling” process, the particles tend to be rounder and more consistent in size. Under a microscope, Versa particles are much smoother and rounder than those of Juvederm. This leads to a more durable and easily molded product than other cosmetic fillers on the market.

We asked Cierra, one of our nurse injectors, why she personally prefers Versa over Juvederm. "I prefer Versa because is comprised of hydrophobic molecules, whereas Juvederm is hydrophilic. A hydrophobic molecule is ideal when placing filler into the lips because it does not absorb the fluid that naturally hangs out in that area. When a hydrophilic molecule, like Juvederm, is injected it will actually attract the natural fluids in your lips which causes more swelling, higher chance for lumping, and increased chance of product migration. Although Juvederm is a beautiful product, Versa is my go-to or lips because of its molecular capabilities."

All Lips are Not Created Equal
