Nasolabial Folds, also known as “smile lines” or “laugh lines”, are the two lines that that run from each side of the nose to the corners of the mouth. They are defined by facial structures that support the buccal fat pad and separate the cheeks from the upper lip. As we age and the skin becomes saggy and thinner, the folds tend to become more prominent. This is where filler comes in. Filler will quite literally fill in the wrinkles and folds while improving skin texture and flexibility. There are many dermal fillers are used to fill nasolabial folds and marionette lines. We will choose the right filler for you based on how deep your wrinkles are and your expected results.
The longevity of your results is largely dependent on the age of the patient, their metabolism, the amount of exercise they do regularly, and the normal blood flow to the face. For example, someone who is young with a fast metabolism and more blood flow to the face will most likely burn through filler quicker than someone who is older. In addition to this, filler in certain areas of the face tends to last longer than others. For examples, lip fillers only last about 6 months due to how much we move our mouths. However, filler in a less mobile area such as the tear troughs and cheeks last around a 1 year. Each filler product are uniquely formulated, therefore some products will last longer than others. Please remember individual results will always vary.
