As we age, our body’s natural fat begins to deteriorate. This results in sagging skin, more prominent wrinkles, and a reduction of volume. Cheek fillers can rejuvenate the cheeks and mid-face area to help correct the volume loss, accentuate and add contour, as well as lift and improve other areas of your face! The best fillers for the cheeks are Radiesse, Restylane Lyft, or Juvederm Voluma because of how supportive they are. We hate to generalize, but almost everyone could use cheek filler at some point in their life. If treated at the first signs of facial heaviness, you can prevent facial fat pad deflation and the dropping of the jowls.
Cheek filler uses the injections of dermal fillers such as Radiesse, Restylane Lyft, and Juvederm Voluma. During the treatment, small volumes of the filler are injected at several places along the cheekbone. This process changes the contours of the area by filling in the skin from the inside out, as well as restore volume to the apples of your cheeks. The result is cheeks that look more prominent and sculpted. The process is quick and virtually painless. Little to no downtime needed, as you should not get much swelling in this area and bruising is minimal. The results will last up to 12 months (individual results may vary).
The longevity of your results is largely dependent on the age of the patient, their metabolism, the amount of exercise they do regularly, and the normal blood flow to the face. For example, someone who is young with a fast metabolism and more blood flow to the face will most likely burn through filler quicker than someone who is older. In addition to this, filler in certain areas of the face tends to last longer than others. For examples, lip fillers only last about 6 months due to how much we move our mouths. However, filler in a less mobile area such as the tear troughs and cheeks last around a 1 year. Each filler product are uniquely formulated, therefore some products will last longer than others. Please remember individual results will always vary.
More About the Fillers:
Radiesse ($800/syringe): Radiesse is smooth and gel-filled, with tiny calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres used to treat volume loss in face and hands. When injected, it adds immediate volume and correction while the microspheres act as a scaffold, stimulating your body to produce its own, natural collagen. Since Radiesse is not a Hyaluronic Acid Filler, it cannot be dissolved. With that said, Radiesse injections should only be performed by an experienced and highly skilled injector.
Restylane Lyft ($800/ syringe): Restylane Lyft is an injectable hyaluronic acid gel used to correct volume loss and treat wrinkles in the face and hands. Through nonsurgical injections, Restylane Lyft is specifically designed to add fullness to the cheeks, midface area, and the back of the hands to help complete your aesthetic look. Restylane Lyft can last 9-12 months, although individual results may vary.
Juvederm Voluma ($900/syringe): Juvederm Voluma is an FDA-approved injectable gel for the cheek area to add volume lost to aging. It can create contour and add a subtle lift instantly. Containing a modified hyaluronic acid (HA), Voluma is a nonsurgical treatment that provides natural-looking results. Voluma has been proven to last up to 2 years, however individual results may vary.
