The Plasma Pen

The newest cosmetic treatment on the market, the plasma pen combats wrinkles, sagging skin, and lost collagen. The device is able to significantly tighten, lift, resurface, rejuvenate and regenerate practically any area of the skin. Being called the world’s most advanced, non-invasive, skin lifting and skin tightening device used to treat wrinkles, and sagging, dull skin. The Plasma Pen is an FDA approved, CE approved device used to perform fibroblast therapy, a technique used to stimulate the production of collagen in the skin.

How Does the Plasma Pen Work?

Our trained and certified Plasma Pen technicians use the device to deliver soft-surgery plasma fibroblasting.

In simple terms; the Plasma Pen handpiece converts electrical energy into artificial nitrogen plasma. The nitrogen plasma energy created then transfers to the skin via a plasma “arc” (so zero-touch contact). This causes micro-trauma to the skin’s epidermal layer (top layers) whilst simultaneously heating and disrupting the deeper dermal skin structure via thermal conduction. This treatment is also known as fibroblasting.

What Areas of the Body can Plasma Pen Treat?

Fibroblastion produces amazing results anywhere on the body, however, we like plasma pen for the upper and lower eyelids. It is important for anyone considering fibroblasting treatment to carefully review the contraindications and consider the sizable amount of downtime associated with the treatment.

  • Upper and lower eyelids
  • Crows feet
  • Acne scars
  • Jowl/Jawline tightening
  • Marionette lines
  • Nasolabial folds/smile lines
  • Necklines
  • Smoker’s lines
  • Stretchmarks

What is the Downtime Like?

While downtime is subjective to everyone, we consider the downtime with the fibroblasting to be pretty significant. Please be prepared and fully expect the following:

  • Redness, swelling and scabbing in the treatment area
  • Average of 8 days of downtime for face and neck areas (possibly more with the eyelids)
  • Swelling sets in the day after treatment and peaks at day 4-5
  • After swelling starts to subside, scabs will form
  • Scabs normally begin to fall off around day 6 and 7

Please be aware that the days indicated are simply guidelines for average healing time. Healing time could be compromised by not following the aftercare protocol: no drinking alcohol, no smoking, and no picking/scrubbing. Treatment will be noticeable, it is not something you can play off or hide with makeup (this is especially true with the upper and lower eyelids). If you concerned with how you look we recommend preparing for some time off from work or planning for peak side effects to hit over the weekend.

Does it Hurt?

Plasma Pen is mild to moderately uncomfortable. Everyone’s pain level is different and some areas of the body are more sensitive than others. Numbing cream and our Pro-Nox machine (like laughing gas at the dentist) are used to help with any discomfort.

Who is Not a Good Candidate?

While Plasma Pen yields amazing results, the downtime is significant and should only be done on someone who is fully prepared for it. Those with a higher Fitzpatrick score or those with a tan are also not a good candidate.
