Kybella vs. LipoDissolve: What's the Difference Between the Two Fat Melting Injectables?

Most of us have heard of Kybella, the fat melting injectable FDA approved to help get rid of that double chin for good. But not a lot of you (I'm assuming) have heard of LipoDissolve.  Why should you know more about LipDissolve you ask? Because it does the same exact thing, for a fraction of the price! Why are you just hearing of the cheaper alternative to Kybella? Let's take a closer look at the two products!

What is Kybella? What is LipoDissolve?

Kybella is the injection of deoxycholic acid, which is a molecule occurring naturally in the body, that can break down fat cells. Similarly, LipoDissolve is the injection of two enzymes called Phosphatidylcholine and Deoxycholate Acid.  The main difference between the two products? Kybella is FDA approved for the fat reduction under the chin, while LipoDissolve is not FDA…kinda. A little confusing but the enzyme in LipoDissolve, Phosphatidylcholine, IS FDA approved, simply the brand name of LipoDissolve is not.

Why can't Kybella be injected into other areas of fat? Well, it can. But that would be considered off-label use. Kybella is ONLY approved for reducing the stubborn fat underneath the chin. That's why you don't hear of LipoDissolve as much as Kybella because it's whole brand name is not FDA approved - therefore the procedure as a whole an off-label use. Hopefully, you're still following us here.

Why did we switch from Kybella to LipoDissolve?

Simple: LipoDissolve is a fraction of the cost! We're not the type of med spa that wants to see you spending large sums of money when we know they're a cheaper, just as good and safe procedure out there. Kybella would range from $3,600-$7,200 for a package of 3 treatments. LipoDissolve is $1,800 for a package of 3 treatments! Same product, same results, a fraction of the cost.

How Does LipoDissolve Work?

When injected into the area of fat, LipoDissolve destroys fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat. The active ingredient in LipoDissolve is deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. Fat cleared from the treatment area is processed through your body’s natural metabolism.  Once your injectable treatment sessions have been completed and the aesthetic effect is achieved, further treatment is not expected!

What to Expect After Treatment

You are likely to have swelling, so keep your social plans and work commitments in mind when scheduling your treatment. Prior to your treatment session, ice/cold packs or local anesthesia may be applied to the treatment area to make you more comfortable. After treatment, apply ice or a cold pack to the treatment area for 10 to 15 minutes as needed.
