Brow Lamination: What is it and Do We Recommend it?

So there's a new trend emerging in the beauty world that you might have heard about and we're intrigued by it: Brow Lamination. If you just scratched your head in confusion - we did too. When first learning about this treatment, all I could guess is that it had something to do with brows, and that was right. But what exactly is it? We're going to tell you all the ins and outs of Brow Lamination and do a little experiment and try it on ourselves to give you the full scoop!

What is Brow Lamination?

Brow Lamination is basically a perm for your brows. It takes your unruly brows and smooths them out in a more vertical direction to create fluffier looking brows. It is great for people with sparse brows or for brows that never seem to want to stay in place. With brow lamination, you can get lifted arches, extended tails, and get fuller, fluffier brows in under an hour.

What is the brow lamination process like?

Brow lamination is quite similar to lash lifts in the sense that you are using a lifting serum to set the brows into place. Instead of curls, a setting lotion helps brow hair stay brushed up and lifted upward for about six weeks. The process starts by painting a lifting cream onto the brow, brushing the brows upwards, and finally, a neutralizer is applied to reform the brows into their new shape. Trimming of the eyebrows is often needed afterward to create the desired look.

What we experienced in our experiment?

So, our experiment did not go according to plan. We of course, have not been trained in brow lamination since it is a service we do not plan on offering. MacKenna and I watched a YouTube video on how the process goes and we winged it from there. (Please don't do this at home!) While nothing went wrong during our experiment,  we did not get the results we were hoping for. We unfortunately did not leave the setting solution on long enough, therefore, my brows did not stay in the upright position as we intended. However, it was still a good learning experience and gave us a better understanding of how the brow lamination process goes.

So do we recommend this treatment? Sure! When it is performed correctly and by a trained professional. It's definitely something to try out if you have sparse or unmanageable eyebrows. Who knows, it could the perfect thing for you! Again, we do not offer this service! We simply wanted to put our opinion out there about an emerging trend.
