  4. Results are seen almost immediately. Right after the lip filler injections you will see the results. However, with any injections there will be some swelling and a chance of bruising. Give your lips 48-72 hours to reduce in swelling. Thus, if you have a special event you want to look your best at, do your lips a couple days before to give you some time to heal.
  5. Taking arnica pills orally 3 days before your treatment. This will greatly reduce the chances of bruising.
  6. Avoid blood thinners 10 days prior. Pain killers including Aspirin and Aleve , Fish Oil, Vitamin E and even caffeine can thin your blood and make you more prone to bruising.
  7. Use a Vitamin K serum on the injection sites for a few days after. Vitamin K has many restorative properties which makes for a speedy recovery.
  8. Some bruising, bleeding, and swelling is normal and should be expected. No matter all the precautions and preparation you take before and after getting lip filler, brushing and swelling is always a possibility.
  9. Getting your injections done by a professional is the best way to ensure your safety. Do your research! Filling in the lip area is an art and can be botched under the wrong hands.
  10. You can pick certain areas of your lips to accentuate. Say you’re happy with your bottom lip but want to plump up the top, we can focus on just that. You don’t have to go crazy getting it in every possible area.

  12. You may feel a pinch here and there but overall the treatment is tolerable. ZONA wants you to be as comfortable as possible. We use a topical numbing cream before your treatment to help make the treatment more tolerable. However, everyone has different pain tolerances.
  13. Don’t work out the day of. You will want to avoid any exercise after getting lip filler injections. Anything that makes the blood flow heavier to your face should be avoided the rest of the day.

  15. If you stop getting fillers, your lips will gradually go back to their original size and shape. Contrary to common belief, your lips will not be saggy or wrinkly. HA or Hyaluronic Acid is naturally found in the body and is metabolized slowly so your skin has time to decrease back to normal.
  16. Every injector uses a different product. Although HA is the main ingredient in most lip filler, each brand may make their product differently. It’s not uncommon for injectors to use different dermal fillers in the lips because they believe one specific filler will produce the best results.
